RVA Shirts, Printed by Hand on Comfort Colors 1717

Four designs, seventeen colorways, thirty dollars

Published August 2, 2026

We print shirts for other people's brands all day. Somewhere along the way we stopped selling our own, and people kept asking where they went. So they're back up. Four designs, seventeen colorways between them, every one printed by hand on a Comfort Colors 1717. Thirty dollars, Small through 2X-Large, delivered in seven to ten days. If you came here looking for an RVA shirt that wasn't run off in a warehouse in another state, this is that.

The blank everything runs on

Every design here is printed on the same shirt, the Comfort Colors 1717. It's 6.1 oz of 100% ring-spun US cotton, garment dyed, with a tubular body and no side seams. Twill tape runs across the neck and shoulders, and the collar, sleeves, and bottom hem are all double-needle stitched. It's a heavy shirt. Not a fashion-weight tee you can hold up to a window and see your hand through.

Garment dyeing means the blank gets sewn first and dyed afterward. That's where the broken-in feel comes from, and it's why these barely move on you after a wash. The tradeoff is that no two shirts land at exactly the same shade. The pigment colors especially will drift a little from one shirt to the next. That's the process doing what it does, not a flaw, and it's the reason these colors have depth instead of looking flat and uniform the way a standard blank does.

We picked it because it holds a print well and because people keep the shirt. A cheap blank gets worn twice and ends up in a drawer. This one doesn't.

RVA Logo Skyline

The original, and the one people ask about by name. The RVA letterforms with the downtown skyline set inside them.

It runs in seven colorways. White ink on Black, black ink on White, navy on Watermelon, yellow on Navy, and white ink on Washed Denim, Grape, and Terracotta.

Two designs from Burrito Breath

Half of this drop came from Burrito Breath. Working with an artist on merch is a different thing than pulling a logo out of a folder, and both of these have a level of line work that a house logo usually doesn't.

RVA Rooted

A tree with RVA worked into the canopy and the root system running below it, set in a framed panel.

Four colorways. White ink on Hemp, Black, and Espresso, and forest green on Ivory.

Four-Eyed Poe

The second Burrito Breath design in the drop. Two colorways, white ink on Chambray and grey ink on Black.

Printed here, not drop-shipped

Search for an RVA shirt and most of what comes back is print-on-demand. Someone uploads a design to a marketplace, an order triggers a machine in a fulfillment center somewhere else, and a shirt shows up. Nobody involved has touched it.

These are different. They're 1-Color plastisol, pulled by hand on a manual press, on the same equipment that runs wholesale orders for businesses and teams across Virginia. The people who take your order are the people who print it. That's also why they arrive in seven to ten days instead of three weeks.

Sizing and fit

We suggest staying true to size. The 1717 wears relaxed by design, so it hangs a little roomier than a standard retail tee, but the measurements are honest and the shirt is already pre-shrunk from the dye and wash process.

Body length runs 26 3/5 inches at Small up to 31 3/5 inches at 2X-Large. Chest width laid flat runs 18 1/4 inches at Small up to 26 inches at 2X-Large, so double that number for the full measurement around. Every product page carries the full chart if you want to check it against a shirt you already own.

Price and delivery

Thirty dollars. Every design, every color, Small through 2X-Large, with no upcharge on the bigger sizes. Delivered in seven to ten days.

If you want one of these designs in a color that isn't listed, ask. The screens are already burned, so it usually comes down to what the distributor has in stock.

Want your own artwork on these?

Retail merch is the small side of what we do. The rest is custom work for businesses, bands, teams, and events across Virginia. No setup fees, a 12 piece minimum, and per-shirt pricing that drops as the count goes up. If you have Pantone numbers for your colors, send them with your art. Matching a color from a photo or a hex value is slow and less precise than working from a PMS number.
